Notice of Trial Trench Evaluation Works on Site

As part of the planning process, we have carried out a geophysical survey to help identify any areas of potential archaeological interest. The next stage of this work will involve excavating a number of small trial trenches to better understand what may be present below ground.

In total, around 15 trenches will be excavated across the site. Once this work has been completed and recorded, all trenches will be carefully backfilled.

These works are currently scheduled to begin on Monday 23rd March and are expected to last for around two weeks, although this may vary slightly depending on weather conditions and what we find.

During this time, you may notice some activity on site, including a mechanical excavator, a small welfare unit, and contractor vehicles coming and going.

Working hours will be around 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. On the first day, contractors may arrive a little earlier to set up safely.

We understand the importance of minimising disruption to the local community and want to reassure you that these works are temporary and form a normal part of the planning process. Every effort will be made to carry out the work safely and responsibly.
