Share your ideas for community benefit funding

Thank you for taking the time to engage with us and share your feedback on our proposals. A planning application has been submitted to Torridge District Council for its consideration.

We want to update the community that we have made a voluntary community benefit offer of £17,000 per year for 30 years representing a commitment of £510,000 to support the local community.

This reflects a significant long-term commitment for a project of this scale. The fund would run for an initial 30-year period from the point the BESS becomes operational. If the project remains operational beyond that period, the position can be reviewed at that time in light of the circumstances then applying and the needs of the local community.

We are engaging with the Parish Council on this offer and are keen to hear ideas from the wider community on how this funding could best support local priorities, initiatives and projects.

For completeness, this is a voluntary community benefit offer, separate from the planning merits of the application, and would be provided only if planning permission is granted by Torridge District Council and the BESS is constructed and becomes operational.
